Our students have the opportunity to perform locally each year so that they can give back to the community while increasing their self-esteeem. Children who attend dance class at Jeanette Briggs Dance Academy can be selected to become Members of the Jeanette Briggs Dance Academy Performance Troupe. Troupe class is ideal for students who love to perform and strive for excellence. Students learn choreographed routines to perform at festivals, fetes, shows and eisteddfods. Troupe students learn teamwork and develop strong friendships through performing together.
Dance children in this class are given opportunities to perform at many events. They perform at local fetes, The Sydney Royal Easter Show, NRL football games and State of Origin, Festival of Fishers Ghost and the Fishers Ghost Princess Quest.
Students who have been invited to join the performance troupe will participate in one extra class per week in order to learn, practice and improve their dances. They develop performance technique, commitment & teamwork. Selection criteria include, but are not limited to, technique, attendance, enthusiasm and good behavior. This also includes students who demonstrate exceptional talent, enthusiasm for performing and potential for further development. All Performance troupe students need 80% attendance rate for all classes. If you do not have a good attendance record you may lose your place in the troupe.
All members of the Jeanette Briggs Dance Academy Performance Troupe are required to perform at approximately 6-8 events throughout the year. Inclusion in the Jeanette Briggs Dance Academy Performance Troupe and solos are by invitation only. For more information or to express your interest please speak to Jeanette.
For students to participate in private lessons for performances, they must also participate in troupe class. Performance students must attend ballet, tap & jazz classes each week.
